Overview & Challenge
Compresstome are a precision tissue sectioning instrument trusted by researchers at Oxford, Imperial College London, Novartis, and the Allen Institute across 500 institutions worldwide. Precisionary’s digital presence wasn’t keeping pace with that credibility. The site needed to serve a uniquely demanding audience — research scientists who are highly technical, deeply skeptical, and have zero patience for unclear information — across multiple instrument lines, dozens of applications, and a consumables store that didn’t yet exist.
My Role
I led the full UX and design process from wireframe through Figma prototype to final delivery — collaborating on information architecture and owning visual design, color palette refresh, and creative direction across the entire site. I managed overseas development partners, serving as the bridge between design intent and technical execution throughout the WordPress build.
The Approach
A big challenge was information architecture. Precisionary serves scientists across radically different use cases — by experiment, by organ, by animal model — so we restructured navigation around three intuitive entry points that let researchers self-direct quickly.
The color palette was refreshed for a more modern, credible tone
and the consumables e-store was integrated as a natural extension of the product ecosystem.
The Outcome
A large, content-rich global site housing product specs, application guides, training videos, webinars, validation references, and a full e-commerce store — reflecting the precision and credibility the brand is built on.
